Fractions Learning for Remote and In-Class Learning: Win the Game of Understanding

For learners in grades 3 and 4, understanding and applying core fractions concepts is the launching pad for success in all the math students will encounter as they enter upper elementary grades and middle school. This session will take a fresh new look at teaching strategies in key fraction concepts, including fair shares, unit fractions, non-unit fractions, equivalent fractions, comparing and ordering fractions, and estimation with fractions.

The presenters will explore these strategies using Cyberchase Fractions Quest, a new online game for in-class, hybrid, and remote learning, set in the world of the popular PBS KIDS Cyberchase animated series. Participants will also preview the teacher resources and dashboard that accompany the game.

This webinar will be hosted by EdWeb. Presenters include Sara Smith, Creative Curriculum Developer, FableVision Learning; Anne Richards, Game Designer, Writer, Producer; and Bob Krech, Math Advisor, Cyberchase, WNET / THIRTEEN
