WNET Welcomes Nearly 1,000 Guests to Tisch WNET Studios During Winter’s Eve Celebration

Last night, WNET welcomed almost 1,000 visitors to the Tisch WNET Studios at Lincoln Center during the Lincoln Square BID’s fabulous Winter’s Eve celebration. This was WNET’s ninth year joining the festivities as a participant and media partner for the City’s largest outdoor holiday festival.

Families from the community explored the studio. They were greeted by WNET President & CEO Neal Shapiro and WNET staff and volunteers, who were on site with books, stickers, activities and giveaways from Membership, Marketing and Community Engagement, Education, & Children’s & Educational Media (CEM). The Education team’s coloring corner was a big hit, with children showing their creative side with educational coloring activities. Sesame Workshop’s Sesame Street In Communities Initiative and WNET’s CEM teams provided a variety of materials and giveaways for guests to fill their free THIRTEEN Passport tote bags.

WNET’s partners at the Big Apple Circus were in attendance giving away red noses and sharing information about their current season at Lincoln Center. Digit and Curious George greeted hundreds of excited fans in the studio upstairs, while families sat behind the MetroFocus news desk and saw themselves on the monitor in the downstairs studio. Photos will be posted to THIRTEEN’s Facebook page soon.

It was a wonderful evening of family fun. Happy Holidays!
