Popular Political Sites Name NJTV News’ Correspondents to 2017 “Power Lists”

Two popular political media sites have named NJTV News correspondents to their annual Power Lists for 2017.

PolitickerNJ ranks NJTV News Chief Political Correspondent Michael Aron #6 on the political website’s 2017 Power List (at right). The annual ranking cites the “top 100 party bosses and operatives, lobbyists and activists, lawyers and media figures in New Jersey.”

In selecting Aron, who also hosts NJTV’s popular public affairs series, On the Record and Reporters Roundtable, the publication states: “Aron is proof that a work ethic based on facts, fairness and substance – and the humility to have your views challenged as a journalist – are keys to closed minds, to earning respect and the transparency that comes with it.” Aron has been ranked on the Power List for the past few years, including rankings at #10 (2016) and #1 (2015).

Also on the list: Tom Bracken (#66), CEO of the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce and NJTV Trustee.

InsiderNJ also released their 2017 Power List, ranking, “all the most muscular players in New Jersey politics across a broad spectrum of industries and disciplines.” It puts Michael Aron at #8 and NJTV News Senior Correspondent David Cruz as #63 (at right).

States the site about Cruz: “If this were a list based strictly on irreverence, the NJTV political reporter would rank number one. This human battering ram simply does not give a damn. There are very few people in the political world who have a cellphone crammed with as many as ready numbers as Cruz, who relishes loud, combative public conversation the way some people crave long quiet walks in the park.”

Also on the InsiderNJ list is Bob Marino (#31), President & CEO of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey and NJTV Trustee, Tom Bracken (#33) and Steve Adubato, Jr. (#81), host of several public affairs programs on NJTV including State of Affairs.
