Topic Description: We are just opening a non-profit outpatient substance abuse clinic in Cumming, Ga & are running up into a brick wall with serving clients with no money & to get either Medicare or Medicaid to help pay. There NEEDS to be political support on this issue. These people DESPERATELY need treatment & we turn no one away, but we have staff & expenses to be paid. We have a work program they particpate in to help meet expenses, but we aren't sure this will be all we need to make ends meet for the center. We are saving the community hundreds of thousands of dollars by helping our fellow substance abusers to get on the road to recovery. There is no good reason why the government can't help pay for people's treatment instead of incarceration or extreme medical bills due to untreated addiction. The worst is having to see single mother who WANT to recover struggling. We don't know how long we'll be able to provide free daycare so they can receive counseling. Please email me to start a petition. I will be contacting my local representative & Governor to get this started. Thanks for your support!!!
