Topic Description: I am wondering what would happen if treatment services were expanded to include reduction in risk/consumption for those many individuals who are experiencing alcohol related problems and who are not addicted.(yet). The only folks we are willing to help are those who will agree to abstain, permanently. Frankly, I have been reviewing research and wonder if we're not advocating tonsilectomies for everyone with a sore throat! If treatment is indeed not "one size fits all" why do we not even speak about moderate drinking or use anymore?
