There is no difference when you are treating someone for an addiction. The reason why people choose to use drugs or alcohol or food or sex or gambling is the same regardless of the substance. Although people's "war stories" differ the common vein that runs through someone with an addiction is the same. That is why there is so much success in treating these diseases through rehab, therapy and 12 Step Programs. It works when you work it!!!
