Subject: Would it matter?
Message:
I read or heard somewhere that there is NO WAY alcohol would be deemed legal if the decision were to be made today. Are you crazy? A mind-altering drug, used so casually that restaurants will serve it to you with dinner? As for cigarettes, I don't know the history of them, but the only reason I can find for them still being here today is it most be going to put an awfully big hole in somebody's pocketbook if they're gone. It's ridiculous. I was taken in by the "coolness" of smoking at 15. I am happy to say I am now a non-smoker. To use tobacco and alcohol are definitely a personal choice. But there comes a time when the individual is no longer in control, they become enslaved to it. The obvious answer to me is YES, OF COURSE THEY SHOULD BE OUTLAWED!!! But would it really make a difference? Look at all the other drugs, that are illegal, that children and adults have readily available to them.
