I was very moved by Peggy's story. She looked like a survivor. She showed courage and integrity. It reminded me of my best friend, Cindy. We grew up together; went through all the "rites of passage" of the 60's. Lot's of partying. I remember she was a beautiful woman even at the awkward ages of adolescence. Her mother was just like Peggy; beautiful, elegant, responsible. Cindy grew up to be like Peggy too. She struggled with alcohol and prescription pain killers. She worked in a medical office where narcotic pain relievers were easy to come by. She was an excellent mother, a caring friend, and a truly good soul. She committed suicide 6 months ago and left no reason for her actions. I think I know that the killer was her lifelong struggle with addiction. She had felt she lost the battle and in her isolation, died alone and far too soon. I miss her very much.
