Thanks to Peggy for sharing her story with the world. I too am a "middle-class alcoholic" and know the denial mechanism that works to tell us we don't have a disease because we seem to be "functioning" OK. We may look OK on the outside, but we are dying inside in everyway possible-morally, spiritually and physically. I was deeply moved by Peggy's story and appreciate the reminder of where I came from and what it was like.
