WNET Productions Receive Two Primetime Emmy Award Nominations

The nominees for the 69th Annual Emmy Awards were announced today. PBS received 11 nominations, and of those, two were WNET productions.

American Epic and American Epic Sessions was nominated for “Outstanding Music Direction.”

American Masters was nominated for “Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series.” It is special to note that this nomination marks the series’ 73rd Emmy nomination.

The other 9 nominations for PBS went to Victoria on Masterpiece [Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score); Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music)]; Live from Lincoln Center — Joshua Bell: Seasons of Cuba (Outstanding Music Direction); Benedict Cumberbatch (Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie); Sherlock: The Lying Detective (Outstanding Television Movie; Outstanding Sound Editing for a Limited Series, Movie or Special; Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Limited Series or Movie); American Experience: Oklahoma City (Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking); and Antiques Roadshow (Outstanding Structured Reality Program).

The 69th Annual Emmy Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 17, 2017.
