“Treasures of New Jersey” Premieres with Reception & Screening at Fairleigh Dickinson University

treasures-of-nj_screeningMonday afternoon, NJTV partnered with Fairleigh Dickinson University to host a reception and screening of the first episode of the new NJTV series Treasures of New Jersey at the Florham campus in Madison, NJ. The program, Treasures of New Jersey: Fairleigh Dickinson University, Florham, traces the history of the gilded age Florham estate, once owned by descendants of Cornelius Vanderbilt to its present use as an FDU campus.

More than 60 guests attended the event, including Treasures of New Jersey funder Joe Calvanelli of the OpinionAmerica Group, NJTV Patrons and Community Advisory Board Members, NJTV General Manager John Servidio, Executive Producer Sally Garner along with production team members Associate Producer Rachel Kahn Taylor, and Cameraman Mark Andersen.

From FDU, President Christopher Capuano was in attendance, as well as Florham campus provost Peter Woolley, students, members of the Friends of Florham, University supporters and staff.

The reception and screening took place in the atrium of the campus library, once the site of the family’s glass walled greenhouse, and directly across from the 100+ room mansion.

Said Sevidio in his opening remarks, “We look forward to this being the first of many Treasures of New Jersey…all of us who live here know there are endless possibilities of places we can show.”

The new series premieres tonight, Wednesday, May 10 at 8 pm on NJTV, and Sunday June 18 at 7:30 pm on THIRTEEN and will be online at www.njtvonline/programs/Treasures-of-New-Jersey.
