NJTV News Covers #DaysofDelays Live from the Transit “Choke Point:” Hoboken

NJTV News with Mary Alice Williams made an In Your Neighborhood initiative stop to kick off its #DaysofDelays coverage in Hoboken this past Monday, broadcasting live on-location from outside the Hoboken train terminal. That terminal is considered “a choke point for commuters,” as the Morris-Essex NJ Transit train line now terminates there in lieu of taking commuters all the way into New York, and where extra ferries, buses and PATH trains now take on thousands of extra passengers.

Among other headlines from across the state, segments with Correspondents Briana Vannozzi and Brenda Flanagan tracked commuter experiences, who expressed being “pleasantly surprised” at the smooth morning and evening commutes that day.

Coverage from Hoboken included remarks by Senators Chuck Schumer and Cory Booker about the need for new transit tunnel infrastructure, and interviews with Amtrak CEO Wick Moorman and former deputy director of NJ Transit and founding director of the Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center, Martin Robins.

NJTV News with Mary Alice Williams airs weeknights at 6pm, 7:30pm and 11pm on NJTV; 5:30pm on THIRTEEN. Click here to watch the Hoboken episode.
