New Digital Series “My Everyday Hustle” Offers First-Person Struggles, Successes of Everyday People

Launching today, new digital series My Everyday Hustle offers five fascinating first-person profiles that reveal the struggles, successes, and “daily hustle” of everyday people. This series stems from the Chasing the Dream: Poverty and Opportunity in America multi-platform initiative.

Each Friday, beginning today, July 14, through August 4, episodes will be released at 1pm on Chasing the Dream‘s website and Facebook page.

The first episode, “The Dog Walker,” introduces Nadir Samara, a New York City dog walker who makes more money walking dogs in Brooklyn than he did working for an insurance company in Philadelphia. A recent college graduate, Nadir’s “everyday hustle” means walks during the day, rain or shine, so that he can work on film projects- his true passion- at night and support himself. He is proud of being a dog walker, but can he save enough to pursue his dream to be a filmmaker?

News of the series was picked up by nearly two hundred sites including MarketWatch Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Morning Star, WWBT-TV NBC-12, Daily Herald, Star Tribune, and more.

MetroFocus will air all of the episodes as a half hour special on Friday, August 11, 2017. MetroFocus airs weeknights at 5pm on WLIW21, 5:30pm on NJTV and 6pm on THIRTEEN.
