Meet Our Summer 2017 Interns (Part 3)

Welcome to WNET’s 2017 Intern Spotlight, the last in a series of three group interviews. Our interns hail from various departments across WNET, and we’ve asked them to tell us a little about themselves. They were asked a few questions, including, “What’s an interesting fact about you?” Read on to learn about our amazing interns!

Jane Collins, 20, has spent the summer in The Garden State, interning with the NJTV team. She attends Lafayette College as an English major and Government & Law minor. Her favorite place in the world is Positano, Italy, and her favorite food is her mom’s chili.

Interesting Fact: “I have a twin brother!”

Gabrielle Bruscino, 21, interns for NJTV and attends Georgetown University as a Government major. Her favorite place in the world is an ice cream shop on the Jersey shore called Big Dipper, and her favorite food is red peppers.

Interesting fact: “When my flag football team was in a Giant’s halftime show, I scored my first and only touchdown!”

Justin Cook, 20, interns for NJTV, and attends The College of New Jersey as a double major in Radio/TV/Film & Marketing. His favorite place in the world is Disney World, and his favorite food is Mac and Cheese.

Interesting Fact: “I have my DJ license and host a radio show on WTSR at The College of New Jersey where I talk about and play songs from movies, called “Box Office Beats.””

Tiffany Barker, 31, interns for MetroFocus, and attends New York Institute of Technology as a Masters of Arts in Communication Arts major. Her favorite place in the world is her home in Nanjemoy, Maryland, and her favorite food is Bulgogi (Korean Beef).

Interesting Fact: “I am a U.S. Air Force Veteran and served in Operation Enduring Freedom.”

Jephtane Sophie Sabin, 17, a Gwen Ifill Fellowship recipient, interns for NJTV and attends Montclair Kimberley Academy in Montclair, New Jersey. Her favorite place in the world is the swimming pool, and her favorite food is chicken and rice.

Interesting Fact: “I am learning to speak Chinese.”

Kennedy Glanzer, 20, interns for NJTV, and attends the University of Mississippi as a Broadcast Journalism major. Her favorite place in the world is Austria, and her favorite food is snow crab legs.

Interesting Fact: “I host my own radio show.”

Brian Ryu, 23, interns for the Children’s and Educational Media Department, and attends New York University as a Film & TV Production major. His favorite place in the world is any movie theater with comfortable reclining chairs, and his favorite food is pizza from Joe’s Pizza on West 4th Street.

Interesting Fact: “I’ve been to 49 out of the 50 states. Only Hawaii to go for that last extra point!”

Jacob Ascher, 20, interns for MetroFocus, and attends Harvard University as a Government major and Visual and Environmental Studies minor. His favorite in the world is his childhood sleepaway camp, and his favorite food is steak.

Interesting Fact: “I’m very bad at coming up with fun facts.”

Molly Miller, 22, interns for American Masters, and is a double major in Economics and Social History. Her favorite places in the world are The Met Cloisters and Fort Tryon Park, and her favorite food is Falafel.

Interesting Fact: “I was born and lived many of my early years with an extra row of teeth.”

Sabrina Maggiore, 19, interns for MetroFocus, and is a double major in Broadcast & Digital Journalism and Political Science. Her favorite place in the world is Citrus TV, the student television station at Syracuse University, and her favorite food is Nutella.

Interesting Fact: “I know how to ballroom dance.”

Cesar Rodriquez, 29, interns for NJTV, and attends the New Jersey Institute of Technology as a Business Admin major with a concentration in Marketing and a Communications Media minor. His favorite place in the world is in Atlanta, Georgia, and his favorite food is anything Italian.

Interesting Fact: “HBO’s The Defiant Ones has become one of my favorite documentary mini-series!”

Elizabeth Worthington, 21, interns for NJTV, and attends Bucknell University as a double major in English and Psychology. Her favorite place in the world is Rome, Italy, where she studied abroad, and her favorite food is Chipotle.

Interesting Fact: “I got to interview Bill Nye and Ellie Kemper for my school paper.”
