Meet Out Summer 2017 Interns (Part 2)

Welcome to WNET’s 2017 Intern Spotlight, the second in a series of three group interviews. Our interns hail from various departments across WNET, and we’ve asked them to tell us a little about themselves. They were asked a few questions, including, “What’s an interesting fact about you?” Read on to learn about our amazing interns!

Charlie Smith, 35, interns for the Law Department. He attends Brooklyn Law School. His favorite place in the world is Montauk, New York, and his favorite food is Indian.

Jess Coleman, 23, interns for the Law Department. He attends Boston University School of Law. His favorite place in the world is New York City, and his favorite food is Chipotle.

Theodore ‘Teddy’ Reiss, 21, interns for the Engineering Department. He attends the University of Rochester as an Electrical and Computer Engineering major with a Computer Science minor. His favorite place in the world is New York City, and his favorite food is spaghetti with tomato sauce, cheese and peas.

Interesting Fact: “I studied abroad.”

Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Cook, 20, interns for the Documentary Special Projects Department as a Reginald F. Lewis Minority Fellow. He attends the University of Missouri as a double major in Documentary Journalism and Sociology. His favorite place in the world is the Oregon Coast, and his favorite food is waffle fries.

Interesting Fact: “I’ve had up to seven cats at one time.”

Laura LoTurco, 24, interns for the Law Department. She attends Boston University School of Law. Her favorite place in the world is McNally Jackson, an independent bookstore in NoLita, and her favorite food is a burger and fries from Jane Restaurant.

Paige Spangenthal, 20, interns for the WLIW Production Department as a Reginald F. Lewis Minority Fellow. She attends Tufts University as an English major. Her favorite place in the world is Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo, New York, and her favorite food is sushi.

Interesting Fact: “I’m studying abroad in Germany next year.”

Hannah Herris interns for the American Masters Department. She attends Harvard College as a double major in Religion and Psychology with a minor in Theatre. Her favorite place in the world is Farkas Hall —  her school’s theatre —  and her favorite food is cheese fries.

Interesting Fact: “I am one of five kids in my family.”

Savannah Sinclair Daniel, 20, interns for the Great Performances/NYC-ARTS Department. She attends NYU as a double major in Drama and Entertainment Business. Her favorite place in the world is her rehearsals, and her favorite food is crab legs.

Interesting Fact: “I once ran through a Costa Rican rainforest, with one shoe, away from an erupting volcano.”

Bedram Barapour, 23, interns for the Law Department. He attends NYU School of Law. His favorite place in the world is Cape Cod, and his favorite food is fesenjoon.
