Donors Enjoy “The Vietnam War” Preview & Panel Discussion at President’s Circle Dinner

On Friday, May 5, approximately 100 of WNET’s most generous supporters gathered at Federal Hall National Memorial for WNET’s annual President’s Circle Dinner.

In addition to recognizing donors, the evening highlighted the forthcoming broadcast of Ken Burns’ and Lynn Novick’s newest project, The Vietnam War. Under a beautifully lit rotunda and with 1960’s-70’s era tunes provided by Combo Nuvo, guests enjoyed a preview of the series, as well as an engaging discussion with Burns and Novick moderated by WNET’s President and CEO Neal Shapiro (as seen above).

Prior to the dinner, guests enjoyed a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception and had the opportunity to view some of Federal Hall’s exhibits and galleries. Federal Hall is best known as the site of our nation’s first presidential inauguration in April 1789, and also housed the first Congress, Supreme Court, and Executive Branch offices. Visitors can view numerous memorabilia related to the first inauguration, including the stone on which George Washington stood to take the oath of office.
