The American Conservation Film Festival Honors “Giraffes: Africa’s Gentle Giants” with Foreign Film Award

Six wild endangered Rothschild’s giraffes, one carrying a satellite transmitter look out of the vehicle that has taken them to a new release site.

In an unanimous decision, The American Conservation Film Festival honored Nature — Giraffes: Africa’s Gentle Giants with the 2017 ACFF Foreign Film Award.

Giraffes was distinguished in regards to conservation message, storytelling and impact,” said the ACFF. “Thank you for bringing to the public such an eye-opening examination of the factors that are causing giraffe populations to rapidly decline, as well as the efforts to save them.”

The ACFF will screen Giraffes twice during the festival in October 2017.

The ACFF Foreign Film Award is granted to an outstanding conservation film from outside the U.S. that illuminates conservation issues in a unique, provocative and impassioned way.
