Claude Johnson is the Vice President of Development & Communications. Johnson will oversee all fundraising activities for the institution, including membership, major gifts, foundation support and national and local underwriting.
Prior to joining WNET, Johnson served as Associate Vice President of Alumni Affairs and Development for Cornell University, based in New York City. During his tenure, Johnson was responsible for the University’s new Northeast Corridor initiative, leading fundraising and alumni engagement to new levels in the region and contributing to the university’s ambitious $6 billion capital campaign.
Previously, Johnson was Senior Director, Office of Alumni Relations and Development at Northwestern University, where he created and managed the University’s first regional major gifts fundraising and engagement initiative based in New York. He also held positions at Terry & Associates, a management consulting firm serving non-profit arts and culture organizations; Crown Publishers and the UCLA College of Fine Arts.
Johnson received his Master of Business Administration in Arts Management and Accounting from the University of California at Los Angeles, Anderson School of Management and his Bachelor of Arts in International Politics from University of Pennsylvania.
