Project Description
Need to Know is a new current affairs media project from WNET.ORG, the leading provider of news, current affairs and documentary content for public television. Premiering in the spring of 2010, it will combine a major 24/7 online platform and a weekly, one-hour primetime television broadcast, in magazine format, each Friday evening.
Description of Duties
The Broadcast Production Assistant will support the production of the broadcast. He/she will report to either the Line Producer and the Booker or to the Production Manager. Responsibilities and tasks will include, but are not limited to assisting Booker in the research of future program guests, studio coordination including anchor, correspondents, and guests; preparing segments, scripts, graphics, music and other media for broadcast; In addition, he/she will liaise, as necessary, with various other departments, including publicity, production services, finance and legal.

Educational Requirements/Special Skills
- BS or BA in Liberal Arts.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in television or multimedia production.
- Excellent research skills, written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional planning, organization, problem analysis and decision-making skills.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines and to problem-solve when difficulties arise.
Preferred Requirements
- Prior experience in production of daily or weekly news/public affairs program.
- Ability to shoot and edit video.(Final Cut Pro)
- Demonstrated interest in current affairs.
